Trumpeter Swans Population Numbers

A conservation comeback story
According to the 2015 North American Waterfowl Management Plan assessment of Trumpeter Swans, conservation and restoration efforts have led to encouraging population growth across several regions. The Interior Population, centered in the Tri-State area of Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho, has increased to over 18,000 birds. Restored populations along the Pacific Coast now number around 3,000 swans, and when combined, Interior and Pacific Coast flocks accounted for an estimated 21,000 Trumpeter Swans in the lower 48 states as of 2010.
