Stretch Those Wings
A trumpeter swan fans its beautiful wings in the afternoon sun of a late winter day. The snowy-white plumage is striking, made even more impressive by the six-foot wingspan of North America’s largest native waterfowl.
A lifelong bond
Around the age of two to four years, trumpeter swans choose a mate and typically remain together for the rest of their lives. In some cases, they may select a new partner if a mate dies or if breeding attempts are unsuccessful. (Source: National Wildlife Federation)
