Impressive Wingspan
Found some Trumpeter Swans taking a break from their migration recently, and caught one showing off its wingspan. I’m always struck by just how white and beautiful their feathers are—what a treasure they are.
Pair Bonds and Lifelong Partnerships
Trumpeter Swans typically form pair bonds at three or four years of age and often remain together throughout the year, migrating as a pair. While they are widely known for mating for life, some individuals do switch mates over time, and there are documented cases of males that did not re-pair after losing a mate.
