Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me
A Short-eared Owl squeezes in a bit of evening hunting before the sun slips behind another bank of clouds and disappears into the horizon.
Nature note
Short-eared Owls are known for their distinctive vocalizations. In flight, they may issue a loud, emphatic “boo-boo-boo” hoot that’s easily recognizable. They also produce a shorter, bark-like call—often described as “ke-ow” or “waowk”—used for communication, especially during courtship and territorial interactions. (Source: Birds & Wetlands)
Many of these moments eventually find their way into the Fine Art Print Store, where a curated selection of wildlife and nature prints is available.
