Serious Business

I found this juvenile Red-tailed Hawk active among the oaks, watching from fallen logs and low perches while sizing up an evening meal. After a period of patient observation, it finally secured its prey and carried it to a safer spot higher in the trees.

Worth knowing

Red-tailed Hawks have been observed hunting cooperatively, with pairs sometimes guarding opposite sides of the same tree to increase their chances of catching prey such as tree squirrels. This behavior highlights both their adaptability and their strategic use of habitat. (Source: All About Birds)

Many of these moments eventually find their way into the Fine Art Print Store, where a curated selection of wildlife and nature prints is available.
