A Red-winged Blackbird took exception to an Osprey flying through its territory, and the chase was on. After a few quick maneuvers, it was Osprey 1, RWB 0.

A closer look

Ospreys are highly specialized fish hunters, equipped with a translucent third eyelid (the nictitating membrane) that protects their eyes and helps them see while diving. They can also compensate for light refraction at the water’s surface, improving strike accuracy when targeting fish below. (Source: Fact Animal)
