Sandhills and Sunset

With the Sandhill Cranes in full migration mode, how about some Sandhill Cranes against the sun? These are Sandhill Cranes captured in southern Wisconsin as they were gathering and flying on their journey this fall, and the hazy, dusty, smoky sunset is from the same location taken in the summer. Thought a little experimentation was in order so created a composite of the two, and pleased with the resulting image. It’s a capture I’ve had in my mind for quite some time, realized digitally. Maybe someday if everything aligns, this will all be captured in one frame . . .
