Heron Love Birds

Great Blue Heron love birds share a tender moment while building their nest for this year’s nesting season. The male (right) had been bringing a few sticks back to the nest (about 100 feet above ground) and handing them off so she could arrange them properly. While taking a break the male reached down and gently caressed her back with his beak and in return, she reached up and returned the gesture. Nature is a wonder . . .
