American Goldfinch

Couldn’t figure out how so many of the beautiful flowers had a full bloom of petals one day, and then the next day all of the petals would be gone with just the stem and the core of the flower left. Then one day an American Goldfinch landed within sight, and it proceeded, starting at the base of the flower, to reach in with its beak and systematically pick off each petal of the flower. The very base of the petal seems to be the most tasty, and it chomps down and consumes this part and lets the rest of the petal fall to the ground. Mystery solved!
