Great Blue Heron and water in motion. Something a little different . . .

This little Green Heron was a clever one indeed. There was a swan with its cygnets leisurely paddling up the edge of the lake, picking at the algae and weeds along the edge. Just in front of them was the Green Heron lurking just a little bit ahead, hoping to catch anything that was stirred up by the oncoming swans . . .

This Great Blue Heron was pretty proud of his catch a couple of months ago as it was snagged in the middle of the pond and then walked all of the way back to the shoreline where it gave it a couple of thumps with its bill before enjoying the tasty treat.

Pretty sure this Great Blue Heron was so focused on fishing and figuring out its next move that it didn't pay attention to me. It was perfectly situated for a nice side profile, for just a bit, and then it flew off to the other side. Thanks for posing, if only for a short while!
