Get Your Talons Up!
A couple of immature Bald Eagles tussle in the sky above the frozen Mississippi River. Nothing serious—just playin’ around, practicing to be a grown-up.
Did you know?
Whether for courtship rituals or battles over territory or food, eagles are no stranger to mid-air talon-to-talon contact. While courting, male and female Bald Eagles will lock their talons together, wings outstretched, and twirl through the sky together. Fighting eagles, most commonly males, will also interlock talons—but in a much less cohesive manner. (Source: Southern WI Bird Alliance)
Many of these moments eventually find their way into the Fine Art Print Store, where a curated selection of wildlife and nature prints is available.
