Good to See You!

After visiting a flower and hovering a bit while on its way to another, this Ruby-throated Hummingbird paused just long enough to look back, as if to say, “Hmmm… do I know you?”

Built for Precision Flight

With their iridescent colors and relatively short wings, hummingbirds beat their wings as fast as 80 times per second, rotating them in a figure-eight pattern that allows for hovering, instant stops, and even flying backward or upside down. (Source: The Old Farmer’s Almanac)

Many of these fleeting encounters eventually find their way into the Fine Art Print Store, where a curated selection of wildlife and nature photographs is available.
