Don’t Touch Me . . . Not!
A Ruby-throated Hummingbird hovers over a Spotted touch-me-not (also known as jewelweed) in the morning light, taking on a little fuel before the long journey across the Gulf.
Plant Meets Pollinator
Jewelweed gets its “touch-me-not” nickname from seed pods that burst open when disturbed, and because the plant thrives in moist environments, it’s commonly found along streams and waterways where hummingbirds often forage. (Source: The Outdoor Apothecary)
Many of these fleeting encounters eventually find their way into the Fine Art Print Store, where a curated selection of wildlife and nature photographs is available as fine art prints.
