Eagle’s Nest Update May 2021

So there is only one eaglet again this year, and the activity around the nest is clearly more subdued than when there are two or three eaglets. But it’s still a treat to watch the adults raise the young’un, bringing in fish, taking turns feeding, keeping outsiders away from the nest, squawking at each other. Speaking of squawking, the last 3 images of this sequence shows Papa up on the branch watching Mama feed the little one, and then he starts squawking at her, in front of their eaglet. She finishes feeding and hops to the opposite branch, and then he decides to fly over and join her. When he lands, they really start going at each other. She’s probably telling him off for not bringing in more fish, and he probably tells her that I already bring in 90% of the fish, and then she says that I do most of the feeding, and then he says . . . Well, they eventually make up and sit in the roost tree for a bit.
