Cabbage White Butterfly

Even though the Cabbage White Butterfly caterpillar is a major pest to brassicas (cabbage, broccoli, et cetera), the white butterfly can be a pretty sight as it flits about, and it can be quite the quick flitter. Sometimes you’ll see a couple pirouette up into the sky before they flit along. I’ve been trying to capture one in flight for a couple of years, but to no avail until the end of this past summer. It’s a shame they’re such a pest, but I do enjoy watching them fly about.
